Perpetual investing in the future of fundraising providing sector capacity-building scholarships.

Media Release                                                                               11 July 2023

Today FIA announced a funding boost from Perpetual to build capacity and capability in the fundraising sector through eight scholarships for FIA’s Certificate and Diploma Courses in Professional Fundraising.

Fundraising in Australia contributes $13.4 billion and is critical to the mission of thousands of charities and nonprofits in delivering their mission. The scholarships provided by Perpetual will assist fundraising professionals to advance their skills and knowledge to continue to make a greater impact in fulfilling the missions of the causes for which they so passionately work.

‘We’re seeing great fundraisers leave the for-purpose sector due to limited resources to invest in their development and skills’, says Jane Magor, National Manager – Philanthropy & Non-Profit Service at Perpetual.

‘We manage one of the largest open grant rounds in Australia – so we want to ensure we’re investing in the capacity of fundraisers who are the connectors between great organisations and our philanthropy clients”, Jane explains. “Perpetual is committed to investing in capability building in the sector, to ensure a positive impact and sustainable future – this partnership will help fulfil this commitment.”

FIA CEO Katherine Raskob said, “We’re excited by the opportunity to partner with Perpetual to assist in building important capacity and capability in the charitable fundraising sector. This initiative will enable increased capacity of organisations in their fundraising and lands at precisely the time when it’s needed most. Investment in fundraising is investment in the sustainability and efficacy of charitable organisations in Australia”.

Applications for the Perpetual scholarships open 10 July and close 11 August. For more information, click here.
