Learn how to prepare a 3-year plan to drive sustainable fundraising growth. This practical, hands on 2-day masterclass with Martin Paul from More Strategic will equip you to create an effective fundraising strategy. Working through our 7-step process we examine the fundraising market, your organisational culture, donor motivations, your fundraising portfolio, how to influence donor behaviour and the enablers of success. You will analyse the drivers of fundraising success from surveys with over 300 fundraisers, more than 25 years of developing strategies for 100 organisations and acclaimed sessions run at IFC in Asia and Europe. This masterclass builds on valuable pre-work with interactive tools, group discussion, case studies, research findings and masses of experience to help you confidently craft the outline of your strategy.

This course is offered in four half day sessions. You will be expected to apply part one’s learnings to your fundraising program to prepare for part two of the course. You will bring this preparatory work along to part two of the course for discussion.

Martin is one of Australia’s most passionate and experienced fundraisers. He has helped develop, review and improve fundraising strategies with over 100 fundraising teams in organisations of all sizes and sectors. Martin’s enthusiasm for all things fundraising has seen him present multiple times at IFC in Asia and Europe, at AFP in Hong Kong and Argentina and he has been an acclaimed speaker at every major fundraising conference in Australia for the past 10 years.
With a background in commercial marketing and 20 years experience with blue chip charities such as WWF-UK, Heart Foundation and as Marketing Director for the Cancer Council NSW Martin has a wealth of relevant experience. Throughout his successful career Martin has always been committed to evidence based decision making and has subsequently created a suite of benchmarking tools for use by fundraisers.
Martin is fascinated with why people do what they do and has conducted more than 50 research studies into donor behaviour and attitudes. His current obsession is the application of behavioural science to influence donor decision making.
