Core Education – Certificate in Professional Fundraising

Due to the rapidly changing nature of COVID-19 in Australia, Fundraising Institute Australia (FIA) is taking steps to ensure the health and safety of our course participants, tutors, members and staff. FIA will postpone all FIA face-to-face courses effective from Monday 23 March 2020 until further notice. We will endeavour to reschedule these courses for later in the year or work to provide online learning options where appropriate. Course Overview

This course provides you with a comprehensive foundation in learning about every channel of fundraising and how to generate sustainable revenue streams. You will learn various models of fundraising practice, how to develop fundraising plans, how to create a a case for support, methods of acquiring and retaining donors, and how to nurture relationships for high value donations. You will also learn about practical, useful tools to fundraise ethically in an everchanging fundraising landscape. This course is comprised of compulsory and elective modules.

The course consists of 3 modules which can be completed within a trimester (option 1) or divided over the year (option 2). Option 2 is available in all states.

A table of the different scheduling options. Option 1 is completing all three modules in one trimester. Trimester 1 is March, April and May. Trimester 2  is June, July and August. Trimester 3 is September, October and November. Option two is to complete one module in each trimester so module 1 in march, module 2 in July and module 3 in November.

Heiko has been a Fellow of the Fundraising Institute Australia and has represented Western Australia on the State Executive since 2010.

Bianca has had over a decade’s experience in the non-profit sector and is passionate about creating positive change through inspiring people to be more philanthropic. In 2012 she was awarded the inaugural FIA Young Fundraiser of the Year and was a finalist in the Global Fundraiser of the Year.

Bianca is an enthusiastic fundraiser who holds the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) accreditation. She believes small charities can have a big impact in the world and runs a coaching and consulting business, Fish Community Solutions, as well as the Small Non-Profits Alliance to support them achieve their goals.
