I’m delighted to inform you that we had more than 135 entries from over 70 organisations for the 2022 FIA National Awards for Excellence in Fundraising – a fantastic result in a continuing challenging environment.
The FIA Awards program continues its place in the fundraising calendar as a way to showcase and celebrate fundraising excellence. We’ve seen an impressive uptick in entries to a number of categories including Fundraising Impact Through Creativity; this demonstrates that the fundraising community will always find ways to creatively engage donors and supporters no matter the challenges.
Because we always like to improve and grown, this year we’ve added two new categories – Fundraising Impact Through Technology and Fundraising Champion of the Year. The Fundraising Impact Through Technology award has been introduced to to recognise achievements in the use of technology to advance the cause and to effectively drive fundraising outcomes.
Fundraising Champion of the Year has been introduced to allow the opportunity to recognise someone within your organisation who is not necessarily a fundraiser but may be a champion of fundraising campaigns for you.
I’m sure the Supplier of the Year Award will again be hotly contested given the amazing support our supplier partners provide. FIA Supplier Members are a very important part of the fundraising community and our members value highly having access to our directory of Code-compliant organisations and feeling confident that the work they do on their behalf is ethical and best practice.
Judging for the sector’s most prestigious awards has now commenced and early indication is it’s going to be a tough job for them yet again. We thank the forty judges for giving their time and expertise to judge these important awards. Our Audit Committee have also been appointed and are ready to review all winning entries to ensure claims are true and that the judging is fair and ethical.
Make sure you join us at the FIA Fundraiser’s Gala Awards Dinner on Thursday 24 February in Sydney, when we announce the winners!
Stay safe and well.
