Ronald McDonald House Charities Western Australia (RMHC WA) provides a ‘home away from home’ for regional families of sick children receiving treatment at the Perth Children’s Hospital. RMHC WA helps kids thrive with excellent facilities, programs and people, with fundraising ensuring this vital work continues.
The organisation’s fundraising team works tirelessly to develop creative and effective events/campaigns to generate sustainable fundraising. Successful events managed by the team in 2017-18 include Ride for Sick Kids, Central Park Plunge and Silly Socks Day. The fundraising unit focuses on nurturing relationships with individuals, corporates and the community, growing regular giving, and generating gifts-in-kind.

Key to organisational success is the talented fundraising team comprising passionate and dedicated individuals who enable RMHC WA’s employees to think in different ways, push boundaries with new ideas and provide staff across the board with a strong fundraising support network.

The team works well together thanks to respectful interactions, good communicationm and ensuring fundraisers know their opinions count. Education, mentoring and feedback are also essential elements with fundraising staff encouraged to attend training, spend time with industry leaders and fundraising professionals, and work closely with volunteers. These avenues help the team to learn and grow, contributing to their continued fundraising success.
