Why Jolene Molloy recommends the Certificate of Professional Fundraising

A winning smile: Scholarship winner, Jolene Molloy, used the scholarship to learn strategies that has since boosted her fundraising income.

In 2017 I was one of the recipients of the FIA Certificate of Fundraising Scholarship.  I attended the Melbourne course that was held between October 2017 and December 2017.

I thoroughly enjoyed the course and the course work.  Despite being a fundraising professional for 14 years the course still had a lot of information that was new to me.  Of particular interest was the digital fundraising as this was the first time, I’d attended a course that had a digital component.

At the time I did the course I was working for Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand and was able to implement much of what I learnt into the fundraising strategy.  I was at the time working on a digital strategy which incorporated some of what I learnt.  These strategies are still in use today and have seen an increase in fundraising income.

In the two years since the course I have used extensively all that I learnt on the Certificate of Fundraising course.

I wish to thank FIA for this opportunity.  The Certificate of Fundraising was something I wanted to do for a long time but neither myself nor the organisations I worked for had the means to achieve this until I received the scholarship.
